Leading Ladies Launch

Leading Ladies Launch

Thank you to all of you who were able to attend the Leading Ladies of Vancouver launch a couple of weeks ago. It was a great success! We were pleased to draw such a diverse group of women and it was wonderful to hear your stories!

For those of you who couldn’t make it, here is a brief recap of what you missed:

I gave a short talk on the current realities facing Canadian women these days. Some of it was grim and some of it was encouraging. The powerpoint video that I have included below are some of the statistics that we looked at. The big lesson here is that nothing is certain, and the best solution is always to improve the financial literacy of women so that they can make informed decisions that take into account their lifestyle, earning power and comfortable risk level.

Next, Lifestyle and Business coach, Michele Laurent talked us through some of the ways to identify what our “money stories” are. These stories adopted at an early age and underpin all our expectations and anxieties around money. She had some great exercises to help us understand our current relationship with money, because that relationship needs to be examined in order to move forward towards attaining our financial goals.

This two-pronged discussion was designed to set the stage for our upcoming series of events. We hope you will join us for our next Meetup in June –stay tuned for details!
